Writing processes

I've been saying for years when asked if I have an outline or a novel plan before I start working, that, no I tend to dream my way into a novel. Finally I've found a book that advocates that working method. I'm so excited! Of course, Robert Olen Butler does more than that in his book, From Where You Dream: The Process of Writing Fiction. He also has a wonderful chapter on creating moment by moment passages of sensory detail and an equally wonderful chapter on the cinema of the writer's mind.

So good is this book that I straight away placed an order with Amazon. I'm going to try his index card system for my next novel. Off to buy the index cards!
