Movies

You know it's been a bad movie when you walk out and say, 'Well, the scenery was pretty,'. Letters to Juliet. The scenery was pretty. Vanessa Redgrave is luminescent but even she can't do much with such a banal script.

Although, speaking about people emerging from your past. I did a writing workshop at Oakleigh Library yesterday and a woman appeared who had been in a theatre production I was in, years and years ago at the Footscray Community Arts Centre. We had coffee after the workshop. I had not seen her since 1989! How extraordinary. And, what was just as extraordinary was that she was going to have coffee next week with another woman who was in the same production - and she hadn't seen her for nearly as long. Twenty-one years ago - okay, now I am definitely feeling my age!

Not to mention that I've graduated from presents from the mother's day stall to proper thought-out presents - today lotions and potions from the manboy and Matt Preston's articles, Cravatalicious plus the kitchen towels he advertises from the girly. A bonus bunch of tulips from The Accountant.

Happy Mother's Day to everyone out there who works at this frustrating, anxiety-ridden and totally wonderful job!
